Kitchen colour options

Have been out this morning to discuss a new kitchen design with supplier. DH didn't come as he's got who knows what, but was happy to me to go and chose basic design and cabinets. He's still dying, so doesn't want to discuss but I'm excited and want to think about. One of the styles we were thinking about has been discontinued, so colour choices more limited.

Just wondering what colours others would go for?

Cabinets: Limestone (off white), Moss (more of a medium sea green) or Smoke (slight bluey tinge).

Worktops: Stone pattern, white with specks and sparkle or silver granite.

It's a north facing kitchen, U shaped kitchen. Blinds and flooring can be lighter or darker depending on what we go for.

Given the room is north facing go for the lightest coloured worktops. My parents had a dark worktop and changed it to light and it made such a difference.

Do you have children? Do you like washing your hands lots? Are you good at wiping up after yourself immediately? If you answer “Yes, no, no” then I’d think twice about anything white, off-white or very pale. I love our pure white kitchen, and I would put myself upon the altar of masochism for it again, but even as a childfree couple who don’t cook very often or put heavy usage on it, it gets dirty quickly and there are always grubby marks on the cabinets (this is definitely DH’s fault.)

From your choices I’d probably go with smoke and stone worktops, but that’s because I don’t personally like sparkly worktops, they can look a bit plasticky.

If you have a neutral cabinet, you can put whatever colour you like on the walls, blinds etc, they are relatively easy to change as well. I’ve never found light cabinets particularly difficult to keep clean ( we had black gloss once and that was 🙀). White worktops ( with glitter, I love a bit of glitter, you can call it mica for posh) reflect light back from windows and overhead spotlights.

Thanks for your replies. DH still dying, so nice to have them to read.

No children. Fairly good at washing hands as I work in high contact environment, pamper the cats a lot and before cooking. However, it does look a bit grubby around our handles now and hard to remove (mind you I guess kitchen is 20 years plus).
