Solo Trip Ideas

So I have done a few solo nights away mostly in London but at the start of April I have a 3 days of free time (Friday morning to Monday morning) and I fancy doing something a bit different. I love walking and exploring so want to go somewhere I can do a few decent length solo hikes (about 10 miles each day probably). I would be travelling by public transport so somewhere accessible for accomodation would be best (definitely not up for wild camping so a nice cosy bed 100% necessary!).

Any recommendations appreciated! Budget not really an issue and I'm fairly fit so ok with hills/rough terrain etc. Would like to go somewhere with wonderful views/nature/things to see but also a nice town to eat in the evenings. I'm in Surrey but ok to travel for several hours if necessary - am even happy to stay in different places each night if it means I get to experience a variety of walks.

Thanks!

I’d get the train to Keswick and stay in the town, great places to eat. Lovely walks from the town. Or there are buses to the start of walks.

alternatively Ludlow, amazing food and walking.

I’d go to North Wales/Snowdonia. Llanberis as a base, but explore further afield depending on if you have a car or will need to rely on public transport (there is a decent amount to major walking routes).

You could explore the Yorkshire Dales / get the train to Skipton. Stay there. Local buses or train to Gargrave will get you deeper in the Dales.

The Peak District is beautiful and has great hiking.

How about walking a section of the South Downs Way (if the weather looks nice)?

Another fan of the Peak District. I’d recommend Hope or Edale as they both have train stations. Or Eyam as it’s nice to walk to. There’s also a bus.

If you want costal- Sheringham.

The lake district would give you good walks and places to eat.
