I can only assume a scam. They'd only have your details through DVLA so if you haven't owned a car that's impossible. Also what kind of message? Like email? Bc my OH has only received them by post. You certainly don't owe them anything!

It was on a text message. Telling me to go to their website. I will just ignore i think.

Money Saving Expert website is good for stuff like this. Had a somewhat similar situation with my mum a couple of years ago. You can ignore texts/emails/phone calls, if they get round to sending a letter you respond with a 'Prove It' letter, templates on MSE and they should bugger off as they can't!

By text is 99.999999999% a scam. If you'd received a letter at your home address then I'd be concerned about identity theft and someone having registered a vehicle to you at your address which would be a way more sophisticated fraud. Ignore and block the number.

Wrong thread??

The text message is probably a scam. Ignore it.

Think about it: even if you did own a car how would any issuer of parking tickets know your mobile number? You can use this sense check for most text based scams eg postal fees, HMRC etc
