What can I do with my DD15 this week?

I have a spare day this week and it’s half term. My DD has no plans and I suggested we do something as her sibling and dad have plans…

She wanted to see Clueless the musical but there isn’t a matinee on and she’s not keen on going for the evening, looking at something we can do daytime.

We’re about 20 mins from central London so have done a lot of the general touristy things. I was thinking of maybe a spa day even but she thinks she’ll be self conscious.

Any one have any great ideas? We’re usually restricted by her younger sibling so want to do something really nice with her.

Is she much of an art/pop culture fan? There's a great new(ish?) museum called Moco by Marble Arch that might well appeal as it has some well known artists like Banksy, as well as loads of immersive art displayed.

Could then be followed by a shopping/browsing trip on Oxford St?

(Maybe I was a boring teen but I would have been thrilled with that combo 😂)

My daughter is 14. She had a day like this a few weeks ago and ended up going to the cat cafe in Liverpool which she loved, had afternoon tea there too. Something a bit different?

Just to add- checked and there is one in London if anyone is interested, it’s called Lady Dinah’s in Bethnal Green.

I quite fancy the Paradox Museum near Selfridges for my teens, but I haven't been.

Going to the Spa at Lush Oxford Street?

TheChosenTwo · 16/02/2025 20:31

Lush spa might be different but most spas won’t allow in anyone under 18 I wouldn’t have thought.

There’s a cat cafe at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush too

If I am ever at a loose end, I do Tate Britain, get the boat and do Tate Modern. Food for the soul.
Or if you want real food then the ice cream bar at Fortnum's (I think it's called The Parlour), a lot of fun. I would combine this with a VERY long browse at the big Waterstones in Piccadilly.
Even though I live in zone 2, there are always tourist things that I haven't done.

Lush Spa is different, I suppose they know their audience. Under 16 are fine with an adult. You can book a room for two and both get treatments.

I would probably go to the V&A or either of the Tates though.

Board games cafes in London are quite good if she could bring a friend or two. It's fine with 2 people but maybe a group is more fun.

Otherwise how about going for a facial/ nails where she doesn't have to get undressed/ self conscious?

Or do a class together- a cooking/ baking class or smt

I've just taken my 15yo to an escape room - pricey but a lot of fun.
