🤞HELP....Need ideas for a company gift for 100 people!!!

So at a company event end of the year, we usually give a token gift. In the past we have given a logo'ed mug, pens, coffee cup, tote bag, diaries, cupcake.

Need ideas for something different this year, nothing more than £5. Would rather have something that's practical that can be used daily e.g.the coffee cup, pens went down well etc

Any suggestions?!!!!

We looked at this too but like others have said we're mindful of environmental impact and tat. We thought https://amzn.eu/d/gqS6dN4 looked like it would tick all the boxes and they do company logos also within budget

RaininSummer · 15/02/2025 23:15

Umbrella or decent gel pens would be ok but the other stuff is just annoying clutter. Cheap mugs are just nasty and ditto tote bags. If the budget was a little higher then an Amazon voucher would be great .

A thin reusable shopping bag. That folds into its own pouch.

Does anyone still use squishy stress toys? I had a promo one in the shape of a car which was fun.

HundredPercentUnsure · 15/02/2025 23:19

Invest in a decent drinks machine & biscuits + fruit as a shared gift for the break area instead!

RogueFemale · 15/02/2025 23:21

Mouse mats!

PrincessOfPreschool · 15/02/2025 23:22

I like trolley tokens. Always losing mine.
Branded chocolate is a great idea
Umbrella

I actually use the wooden phone stand I got at a conference, and a metal water bottle. Nice pens are always handy too.

TheSmallAssassin · 15/02/2025 23:34

There were branded macarons at another conference, which went down well, I've also got a nice branded Sharpie from that one. Stickers are only good if you are a brand people want to advertise that they use, likewise T-shirts (women's styles as well as men's are extra appreciated!)

UPDATE
Thanks everyone, seems that these are popular choices:

Powerbank
Trolly Coin
Notepad
Umbrella

A mini cactus for your desk

GameOfJones · 23/05/2025 11:00

The most useful freebies I've been given are:

Pens and notebooks. I have a stash of them at work and use them all the time.

Trolley tokens....still have mine from a conference about 10 years ago.

Costa voucher was very welcome.

reluctantbrit · 23/05/2025 11:07

I don't mind a powerbank or USB stick with a logo but an umbrella - not really. It may go in the car as an emergeny one but not a regular use.

Trolley token is good or these really small totes in a pouch which fit into a laptop bag/purse

Seed bombs - even if people don't have a garden, they can be given to others

Pack of tissues

littlebilliie · 23/05/2025 11:09

Seeds

Not every supermarket uses trolley tokens.

I'd say a low value gift needs to be something consumable and preferably can be used at work. We've had the following at work:
T-shirts. Given out and used at work for the social media photos then taken home and used for DIY.
Insulated logoed coffee&water mugs - very popular, particularly the conical flasks (we're scientists)
Chocolate, we all got advent calenders and easter eggs one year. There was also some logoed chocolate bars that people loved.
Stationary: pens, nice notepads, memo blocks. All good.
Colouring books, we used to give these out to schools when we did STEM outreach
Coasters, puzzles, fidget toys, squidgy stress toys. Less popular these days
Our canteen does mocktails and various free food for work events.

Our company did really well designed packs of stickers. We all loved them. We are almost all nerds so that may have contributed. There were several in each small pack and it caused a trading frenzy. They now decorate the office, our laptops, water bottles, and bags.

As a fellow nerd I would have loved that - fab idea!

Snickersnack1 · 23/05/2025 11:49

A £5 voucher for somewhere, definitely.

RareGoalsVerge · 23/05/2025 11:56

I have to do this every year too but my budget is more like £8-£10 per unit.

Water bottles, power banks, multi-tool bottle-openers have all been good. Notebooks were a bit of a dud, even though they were pretty posh people didn't appreciate them.

FusionChefGeoff · 23/05/2025 12:31

Suncream - you can get branded eco sticks

Mouse mats!

It's 2025.

My work have branded Tonys chocolonely bars, but I’ve no idea where they get them!

A notebook and pen is really only the branded stuff I’d use.

Chocolates nice idea

CarrigDubh · 23/05/2025 13:26

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 23/05/2025 12:41

It's 2025.

Do people not use mouse mats in 2025? I use one?

latetothefisting · 23/05/2025 13:42

Why do people not just answer the question?

OP didn't ask "should we give branded stuff at all" she asked "what branded stuff should I get"
Presumably she doesn't have the authority to decide whether or not the money should be spent on that or something else and if she did surely she would poll the actual staff at her company rather than randoms on MN before making that decision.

Nobody cares if you don't want the stuff or consider it tat, its not your company and you won't be getting it or a £5 alternative anyway!

Fwiw I like the ideas of powerbank or umbrella but suncream would be my favourite - a small stick type you could pop in your bag would be ideal.
