Can a robot vacuum replace a cleaner?

Im going back to full-time work and I have 3 very young DC. I trying to hire a cleaner (I’ve had one in the past) but I’m having a lot of trouble finding one that is reliable and worth the expense. I’ve been let down by cleaners not doing a thorough job, being unreliable with their hours/days, not working their contacted hours, etc. I found that the management of the cleaner was more stressful than just cleaning my house myself.

I’m thinking of purchasing a robot vacuum (with mop) and running it during the day while I’m at work. That would leave the kitchen, which I clean every evening, and the bathroom/toilets, which can be shared as a task between the household. I can do a bigger deep clean during school holidays.

Those who own a robot vacuum - do you think this is realistic? How much extra vacuuming/mopping do you need to do? Or has it completely eliminated the need to vacuum/mop?

A robot vacuum will make huge difference as it can keep on top of the everyday dust. It is quite surprising how much they will collect, especially initially.

We have one on each floor they are great. You learn to keep the floors clear of objects, socks and cables.

Then you just have bench counter tops and dusting so the load is lightened for all.

We have Eufy.

I'm tempted by the roborock mentioned above for £200. Can anyone tell me whether it knows to mop laminate floors but not carpet/rugs or if you have to teach it?

It only hoovers so not as good as a cleaner but might take a job off your hands so you can concentrate on a different task. It can not compare to a cleaner it can’t dust or pick up anything, wipe down sides…..

The Roomba iRobots deal with cables much better, they have rubber rollers rather than brushes, but they are more expensive.

We have Effie upstairs, she is a Eufy. She is erratic and scatty but quietly gets the job done.

Downstairs is the Roomba, she is much more methodical in her cleaning, she is also much louder.

Just need to find one that does the stairs.

I'm toying with the mop one. I really need that but the reviews for how well they mop seem quite poor.
