Sleep training (or even advice) for a a teenage girl!

I have posted about DD before, she is 13, on an SEN assessment waiting list through the GP and likely on an autism pathway.

She is not coping with school and is doing what they call flexi schooling, which in reality is 1% school and 99 % not wanting to leave the house. The school are being supportive to an extent and we are doing as best we can while also both working.

The biggest problem atm is her routine and actually getting up in the morning, we cannot wake her, she does not want to get out of bed and with us both out the house she has the perfect opportunity to sleep as long as she wants…

I came home early today to work from home and she was still sleeping at 12.30, despite DH popping home and waking her up at 10.

Im so worried about her, she has done almost a year without an education, doesn’t really see any friends, meal times are completely out of sync and doesn’t want to get out of bed. Thankfully she does have a hobby that she loves, is physical and she does every day (afternoon/evening) in the fresh air so she is active and it does regulate some kind of routine but if she didn’t have that she’d happily never leave the house.

We will make another GP appointment to discuss her sleep but just wondering if anyone could give any advice, have got through similar or know of any services that we could contact, asked to be referred too.

I have 3 DC, all likely ND but above DD (my youngest) is the only one who just really struggles with day to day living and I’m just not sure how to help her.

Would she be willing to try a sleep hygiene routine? The benefits are huge, but obviously she has to stick to it.

I have never heard of this, I will Google, thank you for the suggestion.
