Anyone else got this ‘cold’ that is more like flu but probably not flu, but won’t go away?

I am into my third week of it now.
first week pouring mucus, glands up , feeling wretched, lost voice etc
Second week started to get even worse and was put on antibiotics for bacterial sinus infection. The antibiotics need to be taken 4 times a day in an empty stomach so I barely have time to eat anything as a consequence 😩
Third week The mucus is finally drying up but I am left with an awful cough from post nasal drip and feel utterly exhausted and sleep all the time. Body aches and shivers too.
what the hell even is this bug? It can’t just be a cold. I know two other people with it and all of us have similar stuff- lasting over 3 weeks and all have needed antibiotics.
it’s not like any cold I have ever known but also not like any flu I have ever had 🤷🏻‍♀️
if can piss off now though. Moan over.

Does anyone else wake up and just feel like going back to sleep?
PP mentioned that their house was a shit tip. We just moved and I love my new home, I feel so bad about the mess.
Appetite is either through the floor for days or crazy hungry for junk very briefly.
Cant smell properly because my nose is blocked.
@pootleondown thanks for the tip about sleeping propped up.

I had something similar in Nov. Bad fatigue and chest pain lasted a good 6 weeks. Didn’t test for Covid but wish I had. Doctors said this strain is very bad and people taking a long time to recover.

Thought I was better at Christmas. Started to exercise and the fatigue and chest pain came back.

I’m 4 months in now. Hoping to try exercise again this week. Doctor says it’s post viral fatigue. I’d be careful with this one and just rest until 100%.

We've all had something in the last few weeks. Dh first, then Ds, then me and finally it got dd.

Dh and Ds have had cough, so hard it's made them throw up. Not much cold symptoms.

Dd and I have had cough and cold symptoms. And feeling queasy.

It's going to be 2 weeks for me on Wednesday. Still got a runny nose and the cough. Hacking cough. So boring.

We've all been fatigued.

BUT I have almost totally lost my taste and sense of smell. I love cooking and have no idea if anything I've cooked tasted ok. I love perfume and can barely smell it. Please let it come back soon.

This sounds like Covid surely ?

Felt a bit Covid like when I had it in February. But test was negative....maybe they're not flawless though. Tiredness persisted for ages. One step forward two steps back. Come on ☀ that always seems to help even if it's a placebo effect.

Yes, it was doing the rounds in Portugal too, a few people I know were diagnosed with influenza A, I had it for 3 1/2 weeks was horrible

I think the sun can have a really positive effect. Especially with fatigue. Gives energy to our cells or something like that. Let’s hope for an early heatwave.

I’m convinced if I could go and lie in the sun for a week I’d be 100% better!
