Just wondering if it's worth me selling some dozens of books I no longer need.
Thanks

I doubt it. Look up the weight limits. They would also be classed as a small package so not the same rules as a letter....

not worth the bother unless you are getting ££ for them or you are desperate for a few quid

id hand them to a charity shop and help cure cancer instead

So it's £1.90 for 250g letter, £2.30 for 500g letter!
I've bought lots of secondhand books for less than £3.
I guess a lot are being sold for less than a £1 profit.
Might do what someone suggested for the cheap ones and give to charity.

No you would need at least a "large" stamp

But you can check what postage you would need on Royal Mail website- it'll give you size and weight limits for regular stamps

I posted a paperback book this week. (And a chocolate bar)
It cost me £3.95 2nd class, tracked.

Without the tracking was only 20p cheaper. So I'd say it's not worth it.

Have you tried one of those selling sites where they pay the postage for sending off a box? I just did a box fill using the sell hour books app. Able to scan barcode and get the instant price - not loads but perhaps worth a go as no postage

Look at other couriers, not just Royal Mail.

Use a selling site like Momox for free postage

I use Sell Your Books quite a lot, owned by World of Books.Scan your book, fill a box and they collect it.

Sell them on vinted. Use either I post or evri for posting. Books sell for £1/£1.50 ish then buyer pays postage

Arlanymor · 09/02/2025 20:13
