Question about broth mix…

Travelling Glasgow to London for the day.(sudden bereavement) want to make bereaved some soup while there, specifically broth. If I pre soak the broth mix at home, will it be ok to carry it in hand luggage on plane? Not there long enough to soak it before leaving.

Sorry for your bereavement. What a lovely idea. My concern would be if it gets too warm, the dampness will be a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Can you soak it, then chill it and pack it in a flask (or insulated water bottle would do the job) with cool packs (or even ice). I think that would be the safest way. Or even better, soak then freeze. Transport the frozen mix in a watertight container.
Remember to treat it like a liquid.

At airport security I mean.

It's not necessary to pre-soak broth mix, doing so just makes it a bit more energy-efficient because it doesn't need to simmer as long in the pot.

We never pre soak for a broth - lentils and barley usually , perhaps split peas

Oh, first poster nails it I think, didn’t think about breeding germs, am really not thinking clearly. Making broth takes time and energy as others say, not the thing to do on a day trip. Will make some cakes, and spend the time with bereaved.
Thanks all for clarifying my thinking.
