The birth of my granddaughter this evening!
My dd was expecting no 2. After a very long and difficult (and baby ended in nicu very unwell) with DGS during Covid , we were not expecting to get to hospital...and DD to deliver 35 mins later! My flask of coffee was still too hot to drink Grin
It was the most moving and wonderful experience to be there for my daughter (with her lovely dh) and to welcome the new life into our world. Masses of hair and was feeding like a pro within minutes.. no ventilators or tubes this time.

Still on cloud 9, and am off to bed to cuddle DGS who is with me tonight :)

How lovely, congratulations OP. Sounds like my 2nd baby who arrived after a 90 minute labour, just over an hour after we got to the hospital.

coxesorangepippin · 07/02/2025 01:25

Congratulations 🎊

Oh what a lovely post! Congratulations 🥹

I so wanted my Mum to be there for my DS’ birth, and she was there right up until I needed an emergency C-section and I could only have DP in theatre with me. Thankfully none of the theatre staff objected to DP having her on FaceTime so she still got to ‘be’ there for his birth, and DS was taken through to her in the recovery room while I was getting sorted out when my blood pressure tanked after they stitched me up! That was a lovely surprise for her as she wasn’t expecting him, she got a lovely 20 mins of uninterrupted snuggles with my brand new DS before I came back ❤️

Congratulations 🎊 I've had the same privilege, watching my DGS's be born 🥰 I also have a beautiful DGD, and I'm about to be a nanny again in a few months 🫶🏻

Amazing and congratulations

SickTiredNotRich · 07/02/2025 02:55

Congratulations on the new addition.

Having been at the birth of my own children though, I’d be loathe to be at the birth of anyone else’s .

Awww congratulations!! That's such a lovely post to read. My mom was there for the birth of my child and I know it meant a lot to her but it's so nice to read just how much it means written down.

Congratulations!!! I bet baby is a Bobby Dazzler!!

I had my DH & Mum with me when I had my son - they were the best tag team and there was no way I wasn't going to be having them both with me!

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 07/02/2025 07:00

Ah, congratulations to your family, OP.

Give your DGS lots of extra special cuddles and tell him that his new role as big brother is going to be really important.

Cocothecoconut · 07/02/2025 07:02

It’s a fabulous feeling isn’t it
i caught/delivered my 2nd GS whilst his dad was on the phone to the midwife
