How much to pay cleaners

Hi,

Never had a cleaner before, but we need help now due to ill health.

Local friend just started cleaning business and isn't sure what to charge.

She suggested we suggest something we're happy with.

2 bed outside London/close to Paddington.

We're providing products.

Also, weekly cleaning or every 2 weeks?

Thank you so much. I don't even know where to start. She's lovely and we really want to offer her a good amount. She has lots of cleaning experience and is just all round lovely.

She should be researching her market, not asking a client to decide, even if you are friends.

We pay £18 per hour which is over the local rate of £15. Three bed house with bathroom, but one bedroom is where I'm working, so it's only two bedrooms, two receptions, kitchen, bathroom and big utility room and an awkward stair case. Once a week for us.

I'm in London and was recently looking for cleaners. Agencies ask you to book two hour or more slots and charge from £16 - £30 an hour. More if they provide their own cleaning equipment and more if they're doing jobs like oven cleaning or windows.

I pay £20 an hour, but not on a regular basis, just every few months when the place needs a proper clean. I suffer from osteoarthritis and can't do a lot of housework.

thanks all.

We pay our cleaner £17 per hour, in the Sourh East. We have 4 hours per week,

As she is a friend, I'd be wary of being over-generous and/or over-grateful and accommodating in the early stages.

I'd start with an appropriate general market rate for a couple of hours a week and see how it goes.

You can always go up, in pay and in hours/frequency, but it's very hard to come down,

Outside of London, cleaner brings all
