Dyeing grey hair

Hi mums
I am 57 with a short pixie cut. I’ve been dying it very light blonde for a few years. But now, after a few months of not colouring it, it’s nearly all grey. Does anyone have any tips on the risks of dying it a darker shade, maybe a light brown? Or would this not work on grey hair and mean wearing a hat until May?
Thanks. Just feel like doing something mad. 🤪

You can dye it, of course. But with grey hair the risk is that the colour doesn't take or doesn't last. I would recommend getting a hairdresser to do it to start with.

I dye my white hair - and not a natural colour. Go wild - I love the pink shades but sadly they don't suit me

Also suggest using a hair dresser first.

Dark hair will make root touch ups far more urgent! Maybe a lighter fun colour, a light pink?

You risk the colour looking obviously unnatural and then there's the root maintenance. A mix of highlights might be better. Depends what you mean by grey, whether it's uniform, etc

Thanks for all your responses! I do love funky shades, such as pink 😊. Having thought about it, I agree, a darker shade might turn out to have reddish tones, which do NOT suit my complexion. And root maintenance would be a pain. So I will either let it go completely salt and pepper or dye it a crazy pink 🤩. I think natural grey will look fab with vivid red lipstick.

You can get very ashy level 9 toners these days. I think they would blend well
