Is turkey mince nice?

Subjective I know but I mean is it ok? I'm not really fussed on turkey at Christmas but I would like to adapt turkey mince into mean planning as it's a lot leaner.

If you use it what dishes do you make ?

It's passable but I definitely prefer chicken mince. Not much difference in cals but much more flavour to it.

@Spanglybangles and it's not vacuum packed......😁

Turkey mince for burgers and meatballs means you need the fatter version. Lidl has 2% and 7%.

To make meatballs I get one pack of the 7% and put in and egg and breadcrumbs and then some combo of onion powder, garlic powder, bit of Worcestershire, squeeze of ketchup bit of this and a bit of that. Maybe dash of soy sauce, maybe a squeeze of tomato paste or even balsamic. Depends on what I have on hand and what I'm doing with them. The meat mixture is ready to come when it actually smells like something you might want to eat.

I usually pan fry the meatballs in a bit of oil but they also bake ok. Just note they are more fragile than beef so be gentle when flipping.

Sometimes I'll do them like spaghetti and meatballs or we might have them with potato and broccoli. They are versatile.

I think it's absolutely rank

Good lord autocorrect.

The mixture is ready to COOK, not come.

I don't know what you do with your meat mixture.

I love it and chicken mince. Haven't used beef mince for about 5 years now. I use it for everything 'cottage' pie, bolognaise, tacos, lasagna

We mostly make burgers from turkey instead of beef these days (health and environmental reasons). We like them a lot. We put some breadcrumbs and egg in to keep the shape, and some onion and herbs and a stock cube for flavour.
