Vinted selling - packaging

Hello - have had a very successful first day as a Vinted seller, more so than expected. I'm selling clothes. I'm posting in plastic carrier bags taped up but have now run out - what do people use to send out items?

By a pack of packing bags of Amazon for a couple of pounds , I have bought loads and don’t think I have ever received something in a carrier bag

I bought a load of proper postage plastic bags from Amazon. Then the same from Poundland. Strong and good adhesive closure.

my daughter sells a lot. She buys bags on line. You can get a pack with variety of sizes in that do not work out too expensive each. We also open any deliveries to us very carefully and reuse bags and bubble wrap etc

I wrap in tissue paper and then in plastic postal bags or Amazon packaging. I've never bought anything, it's all reused.

Ollybob · 02/02/2025 15:41

I've used carrier bags, clean, turned inside out and taped up, they work just as well.
I do currently have some postal bags from my mum who does a lot of selling and will get my own at some point.
Other than that you can reuse your own delivery bags or any plastic bag that is strong enough to keep items clean, dry and protected.

I save all the packaging from Amazon, ebay and vinted purchases and reuse it. I have used carrier bags on occasion. As long as it's securely packaged, it doesn't matter. For clothes, I'll put the item into a clear plastic bag first (usually saved from other clothing items, sometimes a large freezer bag!) sometimes wrapped with tissue paper, and then into the outer packaging.

I always reuse packaging too. Cleaned out carrier bags are fine. I have bought a lot of stuff too and it's always a mix of carrier bags, postal bags, brown paper. As long as it's clean and the item is protected you're good 😊

I use these: Amazon

I'm always worried if carrier bags rip in the post or smell of food etc.

frecklejuice · 02/02/2025 15:44

Don't think that works 🙄

It's these: amzn.eu/d/9iKGjfS

I always just reuse packaging that I've received stuff in, never bought any.

mirrorglitterball · 02/02/2025 15:50

I bought a bulk lot of postage bags

I love receiving or seeing the really random packaging people use like cereal boxes etc 😅 but I’d imagine lots of people wouldn’t be impressed.

bugalugs45 · 02/02/2025 16:47

I've been known to use cereal boxes, also reuse any box or bag I get . I do have a roll of bubble that I bought on Amazon that I wrap fragile or more expensive items in,
I've never used a bin bag although I wouldn't rule it out, as long as they were the decent strong ones combined with lots of packing tape
