Why am I so tired?

I'm literally waking up tired! I am an early riser but do wish I could sleep in a bit longer due to still feeling so tired.

Last night I went to bed at 10pm (always my bedtime) and asleep by 1030pm. I woke around 12.45am for a wee but straight back to sleep. I then woke for the day at 5.45am.

Should that be enough sleep? Just over 7 hours.

I am 44, have a semi busy job as a childminder but apart from that, I don't do an awful lot. My own dc are older teens so I'm not up due to them. We do have a dog that needs meds and regular meals so I can't sleep in too late.

I'm sitting in the sofa and struggling to keep my eyes open.

Peri menopause (which often hits early 40’s)
Thyroid issues
low vitamin D-most people in the U.K. are deficient, so much so that Gps in many areas don’t even test this any more.
Low folate/B12
Low iron
Or just life being too busy?

Worth a chat with a gp to rule out any underlying causes, but Alive vitamins (H&B) may help give you a boost if all comes back okay

I have similar sleep patterns to you and had a blood test this week which showed I had low vitamin d - on research I see this can create fatigue. I was already taking a general vitamin supplement but have bought some vitamin d to top up.

Worth asking your GP to test all the above as @YouFreakingFreaks says.

Ah interesting! We have vitamin d supplements here so perhaps I should take them, can't hurt I guess?

Also try going to bed earlier for a run of nights, go at 8pm and lights out by 8.30 pm. See how you feel after a few nights of banking a few extra hours.

No screen time for a couple of hours before.

No don’t guess, go to the doctors and he/she will give you a blood test to rule anything out. It could be nothing .
