Truman show - DD loves it

AgnesX · 01/02/2025 15:05

The Stunt Man. Although it might be too much of a chick flick.

The matrix
Arrival (or possibly arrivals)
The Martian

No sex or gore in any of them. Possible swearing though.

Sinkintotheswamp · 01/02/2025 15:08

Agree with Truman Show and the Martian. My dc's really like them.
Rear Window is also good.
Original Italian Job.

Agree with The Martian and Truman Show

Also, Night at the Museum, The Day After Tomorrow, The Invention of Lying

mogtheexcellent · 01/02/2025 17:12

Damsel
Enola Holmes
new and old Jumanjis
Rescued by Ruby
The Spy Next Door was a hit last weekend
We are also working our way though the 70s disney films, eg originals of Freaky Friday, That Darn Cat, Escape to Witch Mountain, Parent Trap.

Although DDs choice for tonight is Death on the Nile (Peter Ustinov version). She has a thing about Angela Lansbury.

Look Who’s Talking is a 15 🤯

Another vote for The Martian or The Truman Show, my 9 & 11 year olds love them both, or maybe Apollo 13.

My two also love The Wedding Singer. Yes, the humour is a bit more raunchy and it’s set in the 80’s so is a bit 🤨 at times but there’s nothing in it that I would worry about them seeing.

Mumof1andacat · 01/02/2025 17:20

Yes the Truman show, independence day or the mummy (with Brendan Fraser) 😍

MissJoGrant · 01/02/2025 17:30

Free Guy is surprisingly funny and great for an 11 year old.

VenusClapTrap · 01/02/2025 17:33

Men in Black was a hit here last weekend.
