A caffeine teddy drink that is nitvrea, coffee or carbonated

I am struggling to stay awake and need to not do ths at work so am thinking about caffeinated drinks.

I don't drink coffee and the tap water at work makes me ill so I can't make a tea. I already take a flask of cold water with me.

I don't want to drink carbonated drinks and I can only drink lactose free milk so can't get one of those lovely chocolate milkshakes.

Is there a drink I can have at work that fits the bill and will wake me up?

What about caffeine tablets or those tablets you mix with water like the vitamin C ones?

Workisntworking · 01/02/2025 13:01

OMG - that title is so poor!
It was supposed to be asking for a caffeinated drink that is not coffee, tea or carbonated.

Perhaps I proved my tired point!

Do you just mean today or is this an ongoing problem? Because if the latter then you should probably see a doctor.

Yes that type. I’m sure there will be some with caffeine in.

More sleep and more broccoli. Caffeine isn't going to help you long term it will just put you in some kind of sleep deficit cycle where you can't sleep because caffeine.

FallenRaingel · 01/02/2025 13:07

Can you eat at work? Apples provide a good energy boost and slow release so you avoid the caffeine crash.

KnickerFolder · 01/02/2025 13:11

Iced tea.

There are lots of non carbonated versions of energy drinks. Probably terrible for you but needs must if this is just a one off.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 01/02/2025 13:14

Can’t you just boil some water from home in the kettle to make tea if you can’t drink the tap water at work? Or buy bottled water to boil at work. Or make tea from home and bring it to work in a thermos?

PebbleDashAtOne · 01/02/2025 13:15

Arla make a lovely lactose-free chocolate milk.

RosemaryRabbit · 01/02/2025 13:15

Yes, take a flask of tea from home.

I'm tired on a regular basis and have been for 2-3 years.

I've had loads of blood tests which didn't show anything so it was decided I had CFS - which has no treatment other than a few group discussions.

At work yesterday I couldn't keep my eyes open and I'm the same today so having a nap shortly (which I can't do at work).

So you’ve had blood tests but not a sleep study at a sleep clinic? I would push for that. GPs are a bit useless with this stuff and may not think of it as an option.

I recommend you fill in a sleep diary for 1-2 weeks, take it to your GP and ask to be referred to a sleep clinic. You need tests other than blood tests to rule out some of the things it could be. Best of luck.

FallenRaingel · 01/02/2025 13:18

If you have CFS @Workisntworking you should be avoiding caffeine.

mindutopia · 01/02/2025 13:20

Take a flask of water for tea from home. I have a yeti flask and boiling water would stay boiling temperature in there all day.

I drink matcha lattes personally. You could buy actual matcha or I drink matcha fuel. It’s dairy free. I make mine with cow’s milk, but it’s really nice with barista coconut or other non-dairy milks.

BloodandGlitter · 01/02/2025 14:15

Matcha is surprisingly high in caffeine, you could have a matcha latte.
