What gift would you like from a grateful weekend house guest

That can be sent via post?

Good friends are hosting DD17 for the weekend, at her request (although they have an open invitation to her). I'd like to send them a little thank you. DD is easy going and of course generally delightful but house guests do create work which I'd like to say thank you for.

Flowers? Chocolates? Anything more imaginative?

Just them to leave early enough on Sunday I get some breathing space.

😀 DD's train is at 2pm on Sunday, is that early enough?

Flowers are a far more popular choice than anticipated, although I will also look at potted plant alternatives.

Cakes etc. are tricky as they are a household with gluten and nut allergies.

Be careful with flowers. I LOVE fresh flowers but I have pretty bad hayfever and I can't have flowers in the house. Also if they have cats avoid lillies or any member of the family. They are very toxic to cats.

Depends on budget - if less than a tenner then bunch of tulips/daffs or some chocolates.

If twenty quid plus then bigger bunch of flowers, house plant, fancy hand wash or candle. Or wine if you know they like it and what type.

I like cheese but I'm fussy so not sure I would want it as a gift... my DH doesn't eat soft cheese etc...

And always a thank you card / postcard.

And genuinely, it's the thought that counts!
