I am not sure but I know there used to be a hardship fund.

You can ask your supplier if they have WaterSure which caps the bill, not sure about discounts.

It may be possible to move to a social tariff scheme for disability. My eldest son has one. His application was supported by his charitable supportive housing provider, Citizens Advice in your area will be aware of your local water providers terms and may be able to signpost further.
If you are not known to them it might also be worth being listed as a priority user for utilities as well, it does not save money but if utilities are cut off you should still be able to access priority help.

Yes there is a tariff for this specifically I'm sure,help4u is a one for low income, not sure if it's also for families with essential water needs.

Obviously I don't know how your usage compares with ours, but a while ago we were moved to a meter, against my preference, and our bill is a quarter of what it was without the meter.

Even with high usage you may be better off.

Thankyou so much I have been so stressed about this as the washing machine is on so much and we need to use the shower and bath a lot more than the average family so I’ve been very stressed. I can see my supplier does watersure. We are waiting for the date for the meter fitting I think I can apply once it’s changed over and it looks like it caps it (although doesn’t say at what amount) I think I just need to send dla and pip letters to qualify .

I hope so that would be ideal but I think we use a lot!

If the medical conditions also require a constant supply of water (I think home dialysis is one) then you can also be put on their priority services register, which means if the water goes off unexpectedly you get water delivered to you.

When we had a disabled family member living here, we had a price cap on our usage due to our requirement for extra washing. We are on a water meter. Contact your water supplier or look on their website.

Our water company have a discount scheme for people on low incomes. Infact there's 2 different ones, depending on nyour circumstances. Have a look on the website for your water company, I'd have thought they all a discount scheme for low income/benefits.
