Silverside joint. Terrible reviews. How to cook

I've defrosted a medium beef roasting joint from Tesco. It's silverside 0.9kg.

The reviews are terrible - the worst I've seen for any product! The only successful ones are from slow cooker.

Anyone cooked this joint or thoughts on how long to cook it in SC and how much liquid?

I know exactly the reviews you read as I shop at Tesco and have seen them.
The thing is I buy one of these joints almost every week and they have always been great roasted as it tells you on the wrapper.

I think they must have somehow had a bad batch at Tesco.
