We need people to help with the economy to support an ageing population and to support the economy in general.
OTOH, more people = more housing needs, more infrastructure and more demands on things like schools, NHS etc.
It's so tricky - if we stop migration, that will cause issues.
But too much migration when we are struggling with housing etc will cause issues.
I can see why it's a political hot potato - and it's not something that can be reduced to sound bites.
