Legoland Windsor Hotel-worth it?

We've done Legoland Windsor twice now and stayed in Windsor and then Slough at a Travelodge/Premier Inn. It's a pita from Slough as we are on public transport. It's not horrendous but not ideal either. We would love to stay at the hotel but is it worth it? Particularly is it worth the themed rooms if you choose the ninjago ones? Ds is 10 and is a huge fan of ninjago. They have a sale on at the moment with the second day in the park free but it's still over £400 for the two of us! The cost isn't an issue but whether or not it's worth the price. Billund is out of the question for now.

We've stayed onsite twice at eye watering cost and DS loved it. No experience of the ninjago room as we did the legoland castle hotel but the gift bag and quiz to get it out of the safe was a big hit and we really liked the room. With park entry you access it from the hotel so you can do mythica easily from one side or lego city area from the other. You get there before people coming from the main gate so queue for mythica was far shorter.

The food wasn't as bad as the reviews made out although service was slow in tournament tavern every time. We liked having access to the pool, it's small though and you need to book breakfast and pool access quite a bit in advance. I didn't realise this the first time and it messed up our park entry as we could only get a late breakfast slot. There was a new room for lego play when we went in summer next to where the pool is. We spent quite a lot of time in there in the evening.

I think if your son is very into lego it's worth the money to stay on site at least once. It's nice to keep the atmosphere of the park a bit longer.

The ninjago rooms look pretty cool. I'm also a massive fan 😃
We did the Santa sleepover at Alton Towers when ds was about 2 and it was great and only £300 for 5 of us to go! Those were the days.
Do they still have a pool? How does that work with the tickets?

Cross posted with you there. Thanks for your reply. It would be a one off stay over I think while he is still at primary school.

When we went the pool was included in the price but you have to be proactive about booking it (unlike me) so that it doesn't interfere with time in the park. They provided towels. The lockers stressed me out but I can't remember why now...I think it wanted a pin number, they didn't have a key and I was paranoid I'd forget it. I think there's pool area is geared more towards younger children. The slide is tiny. We got more out of the lego room thing next door which didn't need booking.
