Will Ikea food bags hold sauce without leaking?

I’m planning on making a big batch of 7 veg sauce and I have Aldi ziploc bags, or Ikea food bags (the ones you press together to seal). I’m not confident in the capability of the Aldi bags, will the Ikea bags seal without leaking?

I thought you meant the big blue bag 😂😂

I was thinking where on earth is she going to use all that sauce!

I suppose if I scrunch the top down it might work? 🤣

Try it with water first. Easier to clean up.

That seems so obvious now 🤣 why didn’t I think of that?!

Yes, they will. I buy them exclusively for batch cooking. Hold stock to thick sauces or full curries.

Obviously, wait until cooled before adding to the bag.

Amazing thank you!

If it's the Ikea food bags with the double seals they're pretty bomb proof. I use them all the time for batch cooking curries and stews and have never had a burst or a leak. The solid Ikea clip lock tubs are also well worth the money, though the lids need replacing occasionally.

I tent to freeze in tubs (ice cream, butter spread etc) and then decant into bags one frozen.

Means I can get the right sized portion (which might be half a tub) but then save the space once frozen.
