Kitchen worktops

I made a mistake with the worktops when I had a new kitchen. They haven’t worn well and already need replacing.

I have two questions for you. Firstly, how easy is it to have the worktops replaced? And what would you go for?

What colour/style is the rest of your kitchen?
What are the worktops you are getting rid of?
Do you have tiles or upstand on the walls (tiles can sometimes break when removing worktops)?
What's your budget?

It's not too difficult a job because it's the last thing you install in a kitchen anyway. To keep costs down, try to find worktops in the exact depth you need so the backs don't need cut down. They may also need to be the same thickness as your existing ones if you want to try to avoid redoing the walls.

It’s a cream shaker style kitchen. I want decent hard wearing worktops.

The current one goes up onto the wall, which gives way to tiles.

I guess the tiles could get damaged, when it’s all removed but I will cross that bridge if and when.

Pretty much anything will go with cream shaker, so the world's your oyster. Will your budget stretch to high end for really really hard wearing? Or do you want a mix of decent wearing and affordability?

I’ve seen that you can have quartz overlay. Anyone know anything about that?
