This isn’t meant to offend anyone, as everyone’s circumstances are different and my feelings aren’t a critique of any one else’s actions.

Going back to work after a career break and just emailed childcare. Had to book my 2 year old in 07.30-18.30 3 days a week as that’s what I have to do. Feel so guilty and like it’s too much for him.

this is part time hours and I can’t do different. His dad will help on other days but can’t on those days. It is what it is. ☹️

I think guilt is a common part of parenting, there's always something that could be closer to your idea of perfect!

He'll be fine, just make sure it's a good nursery and make the most of the other times. Nurseries are full of happy and well loved kids.

I never felt any guilt at all about sending mine. They loved it at their nursery. They had caring people giving them non-stop attention, cuddles, playing and learning. They formed strong friendships with the children, as did we with the parents. We developed a network where we could call upon each other for help, and where we could help in our turn. My eldest is now 20 and still has friends from those years.

My world, and the world of my children, would have been infinitely poorer without nursery. Embrace it!

My two DC have both had to do those hours, 5 days a week since the age of 12 months. It sucks but unfortunately there is zero flexibility in my job.

They will be fine. Just make sure they have quiet evenings and weekends and as much holiday as possible. It will make the school drop offs much easier in a few years time!

It’s not nursery in itself that I worry about - just the length of the days. Seems so long. My dd will have to go into wrap around from school as well and she struggles with being tired as it is. It’s going to be a lot for her.

but we need the money 🤷‍♀️
