To help my big dry face. I also have rosacea.

I need your absolute mother of all moisturiser recommendations. Please and thank you.

Second (or third) the recommendation for Cerave moisturising cream (I get the pot).

Azaleic acid is great for rosacea.

Have you tried La Roche posay Cicaplast Baume B5+?

I also like slugging- simple Vaseline over the top on an evening or aquaphor.

Nivea is perfumed, I’ve always found it irritating to my skin.

Aveeno

I second Aveeno. Either skin relief for very dry skin or the balm. My skin is so dry I used to get ezcema patches on my face but this stuff is great, unperfumed compared with most others.

Yep I'm so pissed off about the supposed new and 'improved' vegan version of Nivea. They have destroyed a wonderful product! When I discovered they had changed it I went around all the local supermarkets, boots, Superdrug etc and bought up every single pot/tube of the old version so I now have a supply that should last about 2 years Grin

Then I'll cry because I don't know what to replace it with!

Maybe by then they'll have taken the vegan version off the shelves? 🫰

Currently using a medik8 moisturiser that is lovely and hydrating. But have you tried double base? I use that on my children’s skin and it’s brilliant stuff

Barbie24 · 24/01/2025 12:58

Highly recommend REN beauty evercalm recovery balm, it's been a massive game changer for my very dry skin.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 24/01/2025 13:01

Dr Jart Green cream.

I’ve recommended it so often on here people might think I have shares in them.
I don’t. They are just really good products and you can buy travel sizes before committing to a full size.

Boots carry it.

What was non-vegan about the original nivea?

This - from Amazon. It’s about £20 for a huge tub and great for all skin.

My hairdresser develops rosacea after her first pregnancy. GP put her on a low dose of antibiotics, they worked.

MissMoan · 24/01/2025 13:23

Bio-oil (or the Home Bargains dupe) - Put it on wet skin - it is amazing.

LoudPlumDog · 24/01/2025 13:25

Ponds cold cream, then Neutrogena on top.

ImWearingPantaloons · 24/01/2025 13:27

When I had rosacea I used La Roche posay products which kept things calm.

I did have rosacea cream from my GP as well though

IAmNeverThePerson · 24/01/2025 13:29

Lush - Dream cream

FindingGlimmers · 24/01/2025 20:03

Wow thanks everyone! Some amazing suggestions here. I shall try them all 😂

If you can afford it, Clarins Double Serum, I swear by it.
On a budget, Nivea blue pot or Astral, slather it on at night.

I agree Clarins serum is magic.

50 50 emollient. 50% liquid paraffin 50% white soft paraffin. It's incredible stuff, thick, gloopy and leaves dry cracked skin silky soft in the morning when applied at night. It's cheap and only two ingredients. Recommended by a doctor friend decades ago and still an excellent, gentle go to.

Hi OP. I have rosacea too. My skin was really dry and flaky. A recommendation on here was for The Ordinary Aloe 2% + NAG 2% Solution. After a week of using it morning and night my skin was transformed and I still use it. I was already using their azelaic acid suspension and have continued to do so. I use Cerave hydrating foaming oil cleanser.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 24/01/2025 21:03

La Roche Posay cicaplast.
