£10 to spend

I've been given £10 in cash as a present by an elderly aunt. I'm not hard up but I want to use it for something nice. I don't like cake or sweets and I can't bear pampering. I don't like candles and we can't have smelly stuff in the house. I don't want to spend it on alcohol. Any suggestions?

A book? A houseplant or shrub for the garden?

I don't have a garden and I kill all plants. Even cactus

I'd get a nice book!

I am in an annual secret Santa with another 9 people and 10 is the limit. Generally get things like books, scarves, slippers, a "nice " mug. One friend bought me a clip on light for reading. It's pretty teensy, though not sure if she got it for a tenner or not. Also candles etc but I know you said nothing smelly. Perhaps a nice handcream or handmade soaps? At this time of year though I would probably see how much cheese and crackers I could get (leftover Christmas stock), but I always think with my stomach.

Coffee shop treat? New book? Nice shower gel?

Actually socks has got me thinking. I really love cable knit woollen tights. I wonder if I can get a pair for £10. Thank you

Oh bless your Aunt. Reminds me of getting 20p tips for washing an old ladies hair and they'd say "get yourself something nice". I'm like, erm, okaaaay, thanks! A packet of Space Raiders and a Freddo it is then!

A meal from M&S
Jewellery (plenty of sterling silver £8-£10 ish on Etsy or jewellerybox.co.uk)
Book
Cookbook
Faux plant
Bunch of flowers or dried flowers
Vase
Nice body wash, bubble bath, face wash, hand wash or hand cream
A new lippie or posh lip balm
Fancy tea or coffee
A mug
Wine glass
Water bottle
Pen or notebook
Diary or calendar
A ring holder for kitchen, bathroom or bedroom
DVD or CD (am I showing my age again?!)
Something for your hobby if you have one
Put it towards a more expensive item.

It's hard to find things under a tenner these days!

If I were your relative, I'd love to know you'd bought a non-generic, "you" present....

Earings?
A hobby thing?
Spices? Cookbook?
Kitchen gadgets?
Wine glasses?
Craft stuff - wool, needles, knitting pattern, embroidery, tapestry kit, watercolour painting, macrame (why?), soap making?
Gloves?
Picture? Frame?
Photo book? (Ignoring budget!)

Back in the 80's my great aunt always gave me a box of Maltesers and a pound note!! So a rattly red box would be my go to... And fluffy bed socks with the rest...

Daffodils and a book.

I would get lots of little tasty bits of food and make decorations for Chinese New Year.
