What is your routine after work?

Hi all,
Im a FT working Mon-Fri 9-5pm.
My routine atm is wake up at 6, kids get up, get dressed and have breakfast. Partner takes the kids to school and I leave for work.
I finish work, pick the kids up from childminders at 6pm and then come home, do dinner whilst kids are on the iPads or playing. We have dinner, I try to tidy up but most time it’s left to pile up until the weekend where the house is a tip and I have to clean it. I’m exhausted every day and I feel like all the kids do is watch their iPads.

i try to do as much tidying as I can after work but it’s hard and I’m so tired. I then make sure kids are bathed,. Brush teeth, more iPad time and then bed. I go to bed the same time as the kids. My partner works shifts and is nearly always at work. When my partner is home, he does try to keep up on top of the mess and the kids but we’re all still very tired. It’s not even 7pm tonight and my eyes are dropping, any advice?

No advice sorry. Same boat. We just get the essentials done and live in a tip mostly 😕

My dc are older but my dad's just been diagnosed with dementia, so now trying to support/visit my parents and fit their needs in too.

The Organised Mum Method! Changed my life, genuinely. I have ADHD and live in a constant muddle, but about six years ago now when I went back to my hardcore, busy job after maternity leave and the kids were in nursery long hours I got my shit together using this.

I was very strict to start and it was hard work, but it really does work and once I'd implemented the fundamentals it really is good. We are both teachers so used a half term holiday to get everything in place and then ran with it.

All these years later circumstances have changed, I work less days and closer to home and the kids are older and more able to help, but have a chronic illness that's got worse and I still find the OMM really useful. Some of the stuff is just ingrained in the household now (like the washing cycle for clothes and school uniform) and I've adapted lots of it, but the fundamentals of different days for different tasks etc still stand and it is just a neat and straightforward way to keep the house ticking over.

Have a read of the website here. There's stuff you can buy like books, but I never have as everything you need to get started and keep it up is available online for free. There's even an app, which again is just an ingrained part of my life now. As I recall it cost a few quid to download but it was totally worth it.
