Why do people delay TTC for a wedding but not other events?

I see it a lot where people say you shouldn't TTC before your wedding because you don't know how you're going to feel, you may get HG, you may just feel rough with morning sickness etc. which may ruin your enjoyment of your wedding day. But then people also say don't delay TTC because of a particular birth month, holidays etc as you just don't know how long it will take to TTC, particularly if like me you're in your 30s. I understand the legal implications of marriage and how it's better to be married before having a baby. However I don't understand why you should delay TTC because it may affect your enjoyment of your wedding day / honeymoon but that doesn't apply to any other event like holidays etc.

because you want to enjoy your day and have a drink or two

Can't tell if you're being serious or not, but a dress wouldn't be affected by early pregnancy unless it's super tight fitting.

I was SO bloated in both my early pregnancies that I looked about 4 months gone when I was around 6 weeks, it would definitely have affected a dress!

I feel hideous in pregnancy (early pregnancy especially) and I wanted to get married pre baby because I'm old fashioned like that (absolutely no shade on anyone else).

We had a bit of time on our side though. Had I been five years older I'd have had a much more low key wedding whilst I was ttcing.

It's totally up to you and your individual circumstances. At least half of my friends have got married after their first child was born.

If I was planning on having a big wedding I was spending a lot of money on, I wouldn't want to spend it feeling like shit. There were days I barely got out of bed in my first trimester. I just sipped ice cold water and tried to keep it down.

My dress was. I was 9 weeks pregnant with my first when I got married and even though I wasn’t showing, my hips had spread. My dress which was too big when I bought it didn’t need to be taken in in the lower half at all.

I would want to be married before I was pregnant. Realistically, when I was getting married, I wasn’t interested in having a baby yet. I was enjoying life and traveling and going out. So i guess you could say I did delay TTC for lots of other things. Dh and I also specifically planned to go backpacking in South Asia with TTC for after. Like I literally took my last birth control pill about a week before we flew home from India and I was pregnant 6 weeks later. So I delayed TTC more for a holiday than for my wedding really.
