Is there a good day/time to upload to Vinted?

Trying to clear out some stuff, mostly kids clothes, and I'm only putting the stuff in good condition on to Vinted, as I don't want stuff sitting on there for months and continuing to clutter up my house.

Uploaded some kids jumpers, jeans, tops etc on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago and most of it was sold within 24 to 48 hours. Since then once been uploading more stuff on a week day during the day and it's hardly getting any views and very little is selling.

Was I just lucky with the stuff that sold quickly? Or should I be waiting until the weekend to upload it??

I find on weekends stuff goes quicker, presumably more people are browsing then. Stuff you put on during the week gets pushed further down. I do find most things sell eventually but if you want it gone fast then weekends are the time to list.

Sunday evenings are apparently the busiest time for buyers so uploading anything you want to sell on Sat or Sun morning usually works pretty well.

Presumably time is year makes a difference too, I sold a lot of stuff around Christmas, presumably people were off work and bored! I expect a lot of people are trying to be a bit more frugal now we're well into January.

Evenings or weekend uploads seem to have more success for me.
Its also a lot about luck on what people want. I put up loads of 4-5 year clothes - went instantly. 5-6 years - not a single thing went!!

You can create the listings and add all the info, save as a draft during the day. Then click save (and upload) in the evening. I do this quite a bit as I don't usually have time to take the photos, write the descriptions and upload in the same evening.

Apparently uploading approx. 5 items a time consistently over 5 days rather than 25 in one day is suppose to boost you listings. I defiantly have more success when I upload little and often over mass uploads

I have noticed 4-8pm is when I get the most favourites or views on weekdays and mornings on weekends. I recently started going onto the listing I already had and reloading at these times and it worked.

For me it's not so much the time but the frequency. If I upload things fairly regularly more things seem to sell. If I leave it stagnating for ages then it goes really quiet. I suppose new uploads must push you to the top or something?

Thanks. The stuff I uploaded on a Saturday definitely went quickly, but I guess January could just be slow anyway. Might just take photos of some stuff during the week and then upload over the weekend. Really trying to declutter so if it doesn't go quickly it's heading for the charity shop!

Hi, I am a regular vinted seller and have over 500 + sales.

Its not about the time of day you upload but about consistency.

Upload one or two things a day and when people search for items your stuff will come up near the top of the feed which naturally leads people to your page.

I upload bits reguarly then get sales on items I listed a few days before because people have come to my page.

People selling on Vinted, I put a couple of items up last month to trial it and was shocked people offer reduced prices. A £4.00 dress , brand new and they want to knock it down to £3.00. I didn't know this was a thing. I thought the big plus of Vinted was the fixed price, no haggling like on eBay. Is eBay better?

The haggling on Vinted is hardcore. Way more than eBay. Some people still haggle (even over 50p!) even when something is priced to sell and absolute bargain. Or they increase their offer £1 a time (which drives me nuts). But there are also sellers who have completely unrealistic prices who don’t understand that their total buyer’s price is actually more than buying new direct from the brand.

I guess it takes all sorts. Certainly makes you realise that there are some very odd people out there.

You generally get higher prices as a seller on eBay but sellers have less protection there.

RobinStrike · 20/01/2025 16:34

@HundredMilesAnHour thanks for that. I think I'm pricing too low! I expected to price really low and just sell, not haggle. I will have to have a rethink before I try again.

HundredMilesAnHour · 20/01/2025 19:07

@RobinStrike You’re also better off if you sell near month end when people have just been paid. January is a long month for most people after getting paid early because of Christmas so round about now is probably the worst time to sell as lots of people will be on a tighter budget than usual until they get paid.
