I've been looking for a 2nd job that is physical & people focused (to counter my main job which is sat in my living room staring at a screen all day!) and would love to work with children so quite excited to spot funded swim teacher training opportunities being advertised at my local leisure centre. After training it's a 7 hour a week commitment after-school + weekends which suits me perfectly for now. I'm interested to know what the job is actually like day-to-day, whether it's doable as a full time job and potential earnings - the role is offered at £14.50ph which isn't great but appreciate this is newly qualified and council leisure centre and seen other jobs advertised for £20/25ph but you never know how realistic this actually is. I'm in the SE.
Does it matter if you're not a particularly advanced or technical swimmer yourself? I enjoy swimming and can happily churn out 20/30 lengths in any of the 3 main strokes, but not with huge amounts of style or grace and never been a club swimmer.
