No would be v happy if this wasn’t happening anywhere including where I live.

why does your neighbour have to 'do something' because they work for the police? why can't YOU do something? why do you have to leave it up to someone else?

I would but I would hope that the actual police officer might be able to get more notice of the situation

Always wondered are police and fire brigade obligated to disclose certain things? We have a gentleman who grows and sells his own he got so high he accidentally set fire to his garden the neighbours garden a bloody tree the fire brigade were called and the police he wad smoking and telling them to keep it away from his shed as it had his product in there.....nothing ever happened to him not even a welfare check on his child? Just wondering if that was normal 🤔

how can you be sure “ nothing happened”
social services would not keep you in the loop of their investigations !

Because literally nothing happened he still grows and smokes and has regular bonfires (one going currently) the only thing that changed was the neighbours whose fence he burned don't really talk to him anymore we are all close quarters around here if something happened we would all know about it

the police officer will carry no more sway on the matter than you do! police officers don't get perks you know? special treatment.. benefits. i would imagine if your neighbour is a police officer, they will have submitted report after report after report of what they were witnessing. doesn't mean it'll get treated any differently to something you submit! in fact, the more people submitting the same information about the same people, the better! so instead of leaving it to everyone else. do something yourself

Police officers are duty-bound to report crimes. I would say that just because nothing has changed, it does not mean they haven't reported it. This particular criminal might be part of a bigger network; gathering evidence is important because there will be a range of criminal activity associated with this, from large-scale dealing to county lines and people trafficking. You can also record your concerns anonymously using crime stoppers.

They won’t take action unless there is financial gain to do so, Traffic offences etc are lucrative the police are not interested in drug issues or burglary.

This is so ridiculous but sadly it's what so many people believe to be true.

The police officer won't have any more clout than any other neighbour reporting the drug dealer.
The police will submit intel entries and build a bigger picture to allow them to apply for and execute warrants.
Just because a cops says it's so doesn't mean they will forcing their way in to check the house .
Everyone has the moral duty to report crime. You can submit the same information (and it sounds like you study the movements and comings and goings quite closely) so you'd help build the intelligence picture

you do know don't you that most fines for traffic offences actually go to your local council don't you... the Police don't get a big fat wedge of cash from your speeding fine

@allthegoodusernameshavegone what absolute rubbish you have no idea

Baneofmyexistence · 19/01/2025 21:11

@allthegoodusernameshavegone Look up the proceeds of crime act. Taking money from drug dealers can be very lucrative for the police. They earn fuck all from driving offences.

Tbh, you and others are probably correct.
