What order do you wash in when you shower?

A bit like that thing that went around ages ago about whether people sit or stand to wipe, I was musing in the shower this morning about how I unconsciously wash my body in the exact same order every day.

Left thigh, left calf
Right thigh, right calf
Right arm, shoulder, armpit and around right boob
Same on the left
Then stomach
Back
Bits and bum

Neck, feet and anything else get cleaned on the way past.

I had this debate with friends a while back and most of them went from head down or feet up and decided I was clearly a psychopath.

What do you all do??

The creeps? How come?

Shampoo.
Conditioner.
Body top to toe while conditioner in.
Rinse conditioner out.
Done

Brush teeth first.

In shower:
Wet hair and then shampoo
Use excess shampoo to clean my glasses and set aside.
Wash face with face wash and sometimes then exfoliant.
Rinse face.
Wash under arms, breasts, shoulders, arms and generally top of body.
Shave armpits briefly.
Wash navel.
Rinse all of hair and top half of body.
Apply conditioner.
Start on bottom half of body.
Wash bits, bum, legs, feet. Wash hands.
Rinse lower body and bits.
Wash hands.
Rinse conditioner.
Do a second wash of pits if I’ve been extra sweaty.
Wash hands and soap again.
Final rinse.

Takes me about 5-10 minutes! Longer if I add in a shave the lower legs element.

After stepping out of the bath I:
Dry glasses
Dry face and ears and then wrap up hair
Dry upper body
Dry lower body
Step into towelling slippers
I dry my feet at the last stage while sitting down getting dressed.

Ta dah!

I have literally never taken any notice. How bizarre to be so specific as

@Zov- I realised one day when I did it in a different order that it felt wrong 😂 one of those things that once you notice it you cant stop noticing!

What can I say, I’m a busy person so I have it down to a fast routine before the school run 😆

Wash hair, rinse, conditioner in, face, pits, arms, front, back , legs, feet and toes, bits and bum. Then rinse hair and rinse body.

Wet hair, shampoo on. Get soap then Right shoulder and armpit, right boob, stomach, left shoulder, left boob, right arm and then left arm. Shave armpits. Wash shampoo off. Conditioner on. Thighs and calves. Probably right first. Shave if it's a Shave day.

Always always start with the shoulder 🤣

These threads always also make me think of that quote from Joey on Friends where he says (in relation to whether soap is self cleaning): "Next time you take a shower, think about the last thing that I wash and the first thing you wash”.---- 😆

I do find it bizarre that both @MoonWoman69 and @JohnTheRevelator added their posts some months after the previous one. It can’t have come up under active posts for either of you, so what on earth were you searching for to hit upon this old thread ???

I wasn't actively searching for anything. It's months since I commented on this thread and I had an email that I'd been mentioned! I'd forgotten all about it! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hair, put conditioner in, cleanser on face, neck to toe, rinse.

Hair first, then work your way down . I'm not a psychopath.

But your first comment was in April on a thread where the previous post had been in January - don’t know why I’m raising it as it’s hardly important but it just seemed odd.

Thank you! I was thinking exactly the same thing. I know I could wash my hands in-between but I just couldn't bring myself to wash bum before face 🤣.

My routine is always the same too:

Shampoo hair and rinse
Wash face, neck and behind ears
Apply conditioner and leave it do to its thing
Then top to toe with my shower puff for exfoliation but avoiding bits and bum
Finally bits and bum (with hands, not shower puff)
Rinse off whole body
Shower off, Sanctuary wet skin moisturiser on body.
Out and towel dry

@ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea I think it's odder that you've felt the need to comment on it!
Sometimes old threads pop up if someone finds and comments on one, so it will activate it again.
We don't all look at the dates threads were posted, especially if we have something to add! I do check more now than I did though. Especially with current type posts.
I've seen the grammar police on MN, I hadn't realised there was a date division! 🤣

It gives me the creeps because I can't imagine why anyone would be in anyway interested to know how people shower. Just why??
