Has anyone learned to snowboard as an (older) adult?

DD1 is a snowboarder. Having split from her ex, she wants to go again and would really like Dh and me to come along and have a winter holiday at some point.
We are old Grin
DH is pretty fit for his age (60) as he is a fanatic kayaker and ex cyclist. I'm active (don't do a sport now but got my black belt in Taekwondo at 50) and reasonably flexible but not particularly strong.
I would quite like to have a go, and am thinking about booking a private lesson at a snowdome just to see how dreadful it is! I tried skiing in my 20s and it was ok (for a beginner..went a few times) but this would definitely be snowboarding.
Is it ridiculous to have a try in my 50s?

Yes. You need to learn on something steep. I tried on little hills for ages but it was only when I had a good steep run that I picked it up.

Absolutely not, go for it!!!! I found the hardest part getting myself back up after falling asleep my core is shocking but otherwise really fun!

I’m a snowboarder and love it. However, there’s nothing stopping you from skiing with your daughter on a board. She may actually appreciate it as you can pull her along the flats.

Snowboarding is fun, but I think it’s less intuitive than skiing. It’s also pretty hard to get back up from your bum so you need a decent amount of strength.

I tried once and the hard thing is getting up when you fall down because you have your feet tied together. It's hilariously undignified.
