Hotel stays family friendly with pool, 2hr from London

Looking for a hotel for a weekend away with DH and DC (age 5).

2hrs radius from SE London, so Suffolk would be ideal, or Kent etc.

Would really like an indoor pool that our child would be allowed to use, plus grounds with scope for nature walks, and room service. In a nice area where we can have an afternoon out in the car.

Has anyone found anywhere that fits this criteria please?

South Lodge is a possibility , they have 90 minute family pool sessions each morning and late afternoon and the grounds are nice.

Pendley Manor near Tring? Iirc it has a small pool. It's near Whipsnade for a day out, natural history museum in Tring and near to walks on National Trust land.

My DC enjoyed Ashdown Park hotel, it’s not far from The Bluebell Railway and there are lovely grounds.

@YourNimbleOchrePoster indeed- it's a bit of a corporate hotel so not exactly cute- however it has a decent pool, good rooms and is in a very nice town where it's easy to potter or pop to Henley and go out for nice meals at all price levels or if it's shitty weather pool plus the Everyman etc- you could do way worse and it's not usually country house price either. I would say the same applies with the Hilton at chievely services- not the most exotic location, but decent pool and you can go into Newbury or Oxford pretty easily

PennyHill park …it really is lovely

Can DC use the inside pool there, I’ve only seen them in the outside pool?

@januaryblues83 although it's greater London - the harbour hotel up on Richmond hill is really nice and right next to Richmond park too for walks etc - really great pool and lovely bar restaurant- we did new year there a couple of years ago and stayusuallyat least once or twice a year for work -very family friendly -- as it's SW London maybe it's not an area you go to much??

I'm gutted to read about the Ickworth not being nice anymore. We haven't been for about 15 years but it was our go to when the DC were little. Loved it so much!
