Help me think through how to create a festival crowd...

To stand in front of the stage I'm going to attempt for dd1's 18th birthday in a week or two 🤔

I don't think I have time to paint a load of tiny peg dolls to stand on the board in front of the cake - any other ideas would be most welcome!

Thankyou 🎶

Maltesers on various heights of cocktail sticks, some dipped into white chocolate to have blonde 'hair'

YampyYamYam · 12/01/2025 15:50

Lego mini figures?

DCIGadget · 12/01/2025 15:51

Lego mini figures would be my go to aswell

Compash · 12/01/2025 15:52

Can you find figures in a model train shop?

Letmeknowhowthatgoes · 12/01/2025 15:54

Pistachio nut shells with individual faces.

lucysmam · 12/01/2025 15:55

Oor. I could just use the blank peg dolls I have to hand, in various sizes, as they are! Thanks very much for the mental shove for an easy solution!

Or ladies finger biscuits cut in half with edible googly eyes. Then the crowd can be eaten.

There's this thing people are doing called a smash cake. You print off loads of people's faces you like and stick them to cocktail sticks and poke them into a cake.
You could do this for a field in front of the stage.

lucysmam · 12/01/2025 16:30

@EmberAsh do you think they'd stand up in just a layer of icing on the cake board?

I think anything would fall over unless it was half submerged in cake/icing! Could you build a Lego seating area?!

EmberAsh · 12/01/2025 16:51

I think you'd probably need a sheet pan cake for stability. Icing might not be enough unless it was very thick frosting.

lucysmam · 12/01/2025 16:57

Hmmm, I'll have a think on that. I was going to make a rectangle cake big enough for us & a couple of visitors, over a couple of days - nothing huge 🤔
