Diarrhoea stains on carpet - help!

Dogs, not child’s, but the issue is the same: how to get the stains out? I have tried Dr Beckmans, Vanish Oxi Action (the foam for carpets), and my vax carpet cleaner. To no avail…Anyone got any suggestions please?

Don't use bio washing powder- I did this for the same problem (child poonami) and the enzymes efficiently lifted the poo stain out of the expensive wool carpet.....and the dye.

Can anyone else can help with this? Or am I doomed to buy a new carpet?!

When y elderly MIL had a continence failure , she used a professional company to try to clean it. They were able to sanitise it but the stain remained. That was a man made fibre , bedroom carpet. She had to replace it. I think it does depend on the type of carpet, but it’s not easy.

Test a small area with Napisan ?

Loosen with warm water and dish soap. Rinse Then use white vinegar. Test the vinegar on the carpet first to check it doesn't damage it.

If non-wool carpet Biological washing powder, dissolved fairly concentrated in hottish water applied with a sponge, then press layers of paper towels (stand on them) to soak up to lift worst staining. Do this several times, then apply bio solution again and scrub with hand brush/scrubber to get the nap. Then go over several times with carpet shampooer using plain water so all of the residual bio cleaner is rinsed out. The rinsing is the most important as residue attracts dirt. Finally, put an old towel on the spot and stamp on that to leave rug as dry as possible ( cos you'll have made it much wetter than normal cleaning).

If it's wool try super concentrated (50:50) carpet solution in a spray bottle and do the same process.

Both worked for me, but the soiling hadn't been ground in by ineffective cleaning beforehand.

You have my sympathy, sick dogs are a nightmare!
