I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, with girl kitten sat on my knee 😊 . Boy kitten's gone back upstairs to bed, I think. No-one else is up yet, so it's lovely and quiet down here. I'm going to catch up with Christmas Chronicles & the readalong thread when I've posted this.

We're not doing much today really. There's the usual washing & tidying round to be done. Plus last night's pots because we couldn't be arsed. I'll probably potter & do those while it's quiet.

Both girls will have work to do for school and college so I'll nudge them to do that and to give their rooms a tidy.

I'm off for a late lunch with a couple of friends this afternoon - I might head into town to return a birthday gift I can't wear because it contains wool and meet them there 🤔. They're off to pay off their holiday.

When I get in, I'll probably get my shower & chill for an hour or two with my book before I head to bed for an early night, hopefully for a better nights sleep 🤞

I have been up ages as usual. I had dental surgery during the week so am on a liquid only diet (and not the fun kind!) so I’ve have tea and a smoothie for breakfast. Have a wash of towels in. Another laundry load to go on in a bit.

I am still sorting out Christmas decorations. Almost there. Was hoping to get them up into the loft today but DH has gout and is in a lot of pain so we won’t be doing that. If I get all of the boxes into the spare bedroom I’ll be happy.

I promised DS I would make some brown soda bread so I’ll do that in a bit. Need to go and have my shower first.

It was -5 here when I got up so I’ve been out and put out water for the birds and sprinkled some oats.

Not much else planned today. I need to figure out what to cook for DH and DS for dinner tonight. DH would normally do it but is out of action. And I’m on soup. So it will be something quick and easy.

Oh and I have to help DS make up a charcuterie board. He needs to photograph one with a beer for work. He works for a beer company. Can’t even enjoy the charcuterie board afterwards as I can’t eat it!

Good morning everyone, it’s absolutely Baltic here and -5 degrees. Poor dh walking round and working in this!

I had a super early night last night as I was exhausted after my first full week working back in an office since dd10 was born! I worked part time for a few years then my last job was full time but 2-3 days WFH. This week finished me off, especially with the snow and ice meaning some days it was taking me 2 hours just to get to the office (it should be a 40 minute drive!).

Anyway, I feel refreshed after 10.5 hours sleep, I’ve put the Tesco delivery away, put the washer on and the dishwasher. Dh and dd20 are at work, dd10 is snuggled under a blanket with a hot chocolate on her iPad and dd17 is still asleep.

Today’s plan is to get the washing done, clean the house as it’s a state after everyone being out all week and then I have an eye test in town at 4.30pm which I know will be expensive as I need new glasses. We’re having enchiladas and salad for tea and then at least one sister (could be both but my older one hasn’t confirmed yet) is coming round tonight to drink wine and watch a film and chat. I’m looking forward to it but my head will no doubt not thank me tomorrow morning!

I should really get a move on and start the cleaning but I’m also under a blanket on the sofa and I’m cosy and don’t want to move…

Skipped running this morning in favour of a lie in - it's -5 here this morning and the first week back at school has taken its toll so a slow start was welcome. I had coffee and read my book in bed until 9.30 - bliss!

Now I'm up, showered and dressed and have put some handwashing in to soak but that's about it. Dh and ds2 have gone out to get some wood for his dt final project, ds1 and gf are still in bed.

Not a huge amount planned for today - I'll take ds1 food shopping later to stock up before we drive him back to uni tomorrow, and I might try and get some bits on Vinted.

Good morning @lucysmam & the Saturday gang. I’m not feeling the best today. Had a lie in but don’t feel refreshed. DH & I have cancelled our planned trip to the cinema to see Wicked again this afternoon. For a change there’s no laundry to do. The dishwasher is on & DH is just squashing cardboard to fit in the recycling bags. I’m having my first cuppa of the day. DD16 is still in bed - she has one of her closest friends coming around lunchtime for a sleepover. Easy tea of Gastro chilli lime & ginger fish fillets with oven chips & petitpois. The girls will maybe have cheesy chips. Saw in a pp that Gladiators is on tonight so we’ll probably watch that. DH has announced that he will do some cleaning as our trip is off. The bathroom is really not good! One of the kitchen cupboard doors has been off for months so I’ll try to persuade him to fix it. I need to compile my meal plan for the coming week. Been really economical lately, using things up from the freezer, so our food shopping bill has been way lower. We wasted a lot of food last year & are trying hard not to do it anymore. It seems Cornwall has come off lightly with the weather. It’s grey & a bit drizzly but not particularly cold out there.

Been up for a few hours now. Feel shattered after first week back at work. Managed to put three loads in the washer, and we're off out just now for a pub lunch.

Then it will be home, chill out, watch movies, curl up and just relax 😆

Currently having a nice soak in the tub whilst the kids play with toys or watch fortnite gamers on YouTube in the lounge.

No going out today as too cold for the babies. So a day indoors of sorting and organising and I plan to list some things to sell also on Facebook and ebay.
Lunch will be chicken kebab wraps
Dinner will be fish stew with fried potatoes and spinach and okra. I will have grilled chicken as I'm not keen on basa. But hubby and kids love it.
Tonight will be watching Disney plus though am getting a bit fed up of useless innuendos or inappropriate themes to be honest. So it's a bit difficult now picking a film for all to enjoy.

I've been to my dance class, it's very frosty here, so it took ages to defrost the car!
I'm just chilling for a bit watching Saturday Kitchen.
We are going to see the Robbie Williams monkey film later and get pizza in the way home.

Just back from swimming, although I let the older two stay home today as it's just so cold and they are shattered after their first week back. DP is away until tomorrow.

Going to clear the airers and hang the first lot of washing out and put on the second lot.

After lunch we're all going to get on with some chores (I'm deep cleaning bathroom and toilet, DC1 is hoovering / wiping down all the stairs and hoovering the living room and landings, DC2 will be mopping the kitchen and bathroom & toilet after I've cleaned them - the kids will earn some pocket money and some screen time for their efforts) and then it will be a lazy afternoon with some homework thrown in!

Dinner will be salmon, brown rice and broccoli.

We are still all loving Young Sheldon so we'll have a few episodes of that later. I too fancy an early night with my book.

Good morning @lucysmam . I've just woken up from my second sleep. I woke up earlier and DH brought me my breakfast and some fresh hot water bottles then I went back to sleep. My cold and cough are dragging on so I have had another week of not doing much at all. While I was asleep DH went to the hospital to collect my meds. They should have been ready last Monday but YET AGAIN my prescription hadn't been authorised. That's every month since I started them in August!

Nothing planned for today or tomorrow. I had an eye test yesterday and have been called back for another field of vision test on Monday. Hopefully it will be normal.....

I'm getting a bit tired of feeling unwell and exhausted, to be honest. I went up for a bath at 7.30 last night as I was so cold and tired and then I went to bed, and asleep by about 8.30! Hopefully I will have perked up again by next weekend. I'm looking forward to spending my garden centre voucher - and I have ordered a couple of apple trees and some crabapples online to add to my guerilla orchard (the bit of unused land next to our garden).

It's about -4 here, football was called off so I was hoping for a lie in, but DS2 woke me up at 6.30 and then the dog wanted breakfast at 7.30 so I've been up a while now. Washed my Christmas tablecloth and put it to dry, put the dishwasher on, put the rubbish and recycling out. Have been sitting on the sofa under a blanket and the dog since about 8am. Have had some cereal and three cups of tea.

I'm about to go up and have a shower but I'm not intending to leave the house today so will put my comfy clothes on. Cheese on toast for lunch I think, and steak and chips for dinner.

No real plans for this afternoon - I want to start my new book and maybe do a bit of cleaning and tidying round. The kitchen is looking a bit messy and the bathrooms could do with a wipe round. DSs are both gaming and DH is watching the cricket.

Good morning @lucysmam and the Saturday morning club.

I had to drive DD to work for 8.30. I slept through my alarm and only woke at 7.50, so it was a rush to dress and get out the door. After I dropped her off, I went for a coffee and made my meal plan/shopping list for the week.

I did a few errands in the big town and got my shopping.

It's much warmer today (4 degrees as opposed to -4 degrees earlier in the week), but still feels kind of chilly. We've gone from ice and frost to drizzly rain.

Just home now and I'm warming up with a cuppa. I've put away the cold stuff and I'll unpack the rest shortly.

On Saturday afternoons I usually blitz my kitchen - empty the dishwasher, hoover and mop the floor, sort out my bins, chuck out any recycling that built up during the week, clean out my fridge etc.

DCats are hoping I'll treat them to an early lunch. They're playing with the new toys they got for Christmas.

I've been out with rescue dog on the long line, training.

We both fell indoors, collapsed on the settee, mud up to each of our necks. I'm past caring about mud everywhere.

I've since bathed dog, showered myself and have discovered that the horrible noise that I tried to ignore at 7am was the wardrobe in the spare room collapsing.

I'm still ignoring it!

Time for either TV trash or crafting. I'm so behind my usual contribution for the local charity I 'stick and glue' for, I must make an effort!

The wardrobe remnants can wait for a day or six!

DP is working this weekend so just me and DS. Quietish day, made DS pancakes for breakfast- most of maybe call them scotch pancakes or drop scones.

Needed to post a parcel and pick up a few bits so left the car at home and walked there then to the main street picked up a pizza for dinner

Liverpool game on for DS who is currently glued to his switch 🙄 Need to tidy up a bit, hang up washing etc...

Like a lot of others knackered after a really busy Dec and first week back at school/work

Gladiators starts back next Saturday so probably a Marvel film later with DS then DP and I might start Slow Horses

Good afternoon Lucysmam and others. I was up by seven this morning. Toast, tea and two coffees. Then I stripped the bed. Headed out for second breakfast with a friend, who paid for it today as a treat. Back home and I lay about on the couch. I'm watching rubbish on TV until the grandsons arrive later. I'm looking after them for a couple of hours and giving them dinner. Dgs1 will have chicken noodles and dgs2 will have lentil soup. I'll probably give them ice cream as a treat. Dd is getting a new car, so I shall look with envy. Later tonight I will remake the bed and watch tv. I'm having stovies for dinner. Enjoy your day all

Your day sounds lovely! Two kittens!! I haven't had that since 2007. My little cat still acts like a baby. He was sitting on me for a cuddle earlier.

I was rudely awakened by the dustmen. Well, no. It was a man delivering a washing machine. Seven hours early?! So that was fun. 🤣

Gonna drink wine and eat bagels. And hopefully not move much!

It's a busy day today. I dropped dd volunteering, chucked a wash on, helped ds empty stuff out of his half of the bedroom (he shares with a sibling) as we're putting some new furniture in there . Clleaned and hoovered it all too. Back out to get dd, trip to Greggs and Wickes, back home for lunch. We've just taken some of the furniture apart and I've left dh to it for a bit whilst he puts the new stuff together, then we'll arrange it all, help ds move all his stuff back and then having a well earned chippy for tea.

Went for an icy walk with DS to the local nature Reserve,which was nice. We chatted a lot about mum/ grandma who we lost in April, and it did us both good.
Back home to ham and lentil soup..bit too salty but warming.
DS now doing an online audition for a new job( fingers crossed),DH watching footy in the kitchen and DD watching TV in the sitting room. Might have a nice hot bath...

Afternoon all. I was at work at 6 this morning. Lots of ice and fog. I walked and worked till 12 and Mum picked me up. Still very cold and foggy outside. Now watching the second part of Archie.. I'm a HUGE Cary Grant fan. I did some prep earlier for lunch tomorrow.
