Question/suggestion for primary school teachers

I’m not a teacher and I’m not interested in becoming one.
behavioural issues can be partly caused by diet, sleep, or stress. If children filled in a diary daily to record bits of information about their week each day, it could reveal a lot about that child. I’m not sure why it isn’t routinely done in schools, or if there’s some kind of rule that doesn’t allow it?

I now have severe mental health issues myself as an adult, largely because of it and am diagnosed with anxiety and depression and am getting tested for post traumatic stress disorder.
I didn’t report much but anything I ever tried to explain was put down as lies or imagination or misinterpretation/misunderstanding.

That's truly awful. I like to think we are better now.

I hope so but I also want to add that in a way I understand why it wasn’t caught

When ds1 was 4 or 5 in reception year, the school held an online safety week - great initiative, but he told his teacher proudly and confidently that he regularly played 'Call of Duty Modern Warfare'.

Spoiler - he had not even once.

My husband had received a copy with his PlayStation - it was new and sealed still in its box in the dvd cupboard waiting to go on eBay or whatever.

I was called in to an urgent meeting the next morning with his teacher and safeguarding lead for that. Little so and so!

I fully agree there must be a channel for children to disclose though.

There is. It's the teacher or other member of staff.

The idea of setting up personal writing in order to facilitate this is unethical and impractical.
