We have an up and down relationship so I will get her something and a nice card. She always says nobody bothers because it’s so soon after Xmas.

she has everything I got her a scarf at Christmas but she said it wasn’t her colours and she needs brighter things now that she is older, she will be 78. Sugar doesn’t pass her lips, she likes to garden but has really painful Polymyalgia in her shoulders and won’t beable to do as much lifting she thinks. She got boots for Xmas. She does like to read in bed. She does still love the Beatles and anything 60’s related. It’s on Monday so need quick delivery.

thanks!

Framed photo of any grandchildren - you can order on a photo site to be delivered framed.

A magazine subscription? If you've got any you can use Clubcard vouchers for a lot of them.

Scrabbelator · 10/01/2025 21:02

A voucher for something she'd make use of, eg. hairdressers

Another vote for a kindle. My mum loved hers.

EachandEveryone · 10/01/2025 21:12

Is a kindle easy to use? She has an Amazon tablet.

some lovely ideas on here but some are just not her. She’s a young 78 and would throw a bed jacket or anything smelling of lavender back at me😀 I was looking at fitflop trainers but she honestly has all the gym gear. I did order her the Cornish flowers couldn’t find a discount code. It’s annoying when they have the empty box to add a code but there was none. I also got her the Waitrose bag the lulu Guinness ones she was fancying mine at Xmas,

Also to people who think I should go and see her I did less than two weeks ago at New Year! I so t be rushing to repeat the experience 😀

I said in my opening post we don’t always get along. Small doses is best for us. She’s fit and healthy it’s me that has cancer, which she can’t bare to acknowledge. So I see her plenty enough.

Edited

Im sorry to hear thatFlowers

Does she have a local theatre, if so they may do tribute acts there? How about a ticket to see a tribute 60’s act?

YourNimbleOchrePoster · 11/01/2025 12:00

Or offer to take her to the new film about Bob Dylan out very soon.

theeyeofdoe · 11/01/2025 12:01

A brighter coloured scarf?

or pay for her to get her colours done.
