FML eye drops

Hello,

Has anyone used these drops before? Just wondering how long it took to see some improvement in symptoms.

Also it says on the leaflet it's contraindicated when someone has an infection, but I've been given them alongside antibiotics for an eye infection.

It says they can increase the pressure in your eyes and this should be checked whilst youre taking it, but no one has mentioned this to me. I was prescribed them at eye casualty.

Any experiences?

What issue are you having with your eye? Steroid eye drops can be given for a few different reasons so the answer to how long it takes to see am improvement depends on the problem you are having

Were you given them for a viral keratoconjuncitivis? They are basically a weak steroid drop and can in some people make their eye pressure rise, but it's less likely with those, than the stronger ones.
Have they asked to see you again?

No they haven't asked me to go back. I'm not sure of the official problem. He said white dots on the cornea after viral conjunctivitis. My vision in that eye is really blurry :(

Might be to reduce the inflammation in the cornea - if the cornea is inflamed it isn't a clear window for you to see through - the steroids will control the inflammatory response

Do you usually see improvement quickly do you know?

I've used them alongside antibiotics. I seem to remember they worked relatively quickly.

So yes viral keratoconjunctivitus.. it takes a while for them to start working and your eye will be a bit dry for a while.
I reckon they’ll contact you for a follow up with ophthalmology in a week or so.
