What to do with unopened bottles of alcohol?

Honestly we could host another entire Christmas and new year event with the amount we have left. I just don't have the space to store it nor the ability to drink it!

Most of the bottles are gifts from customers, very kind of course, but I won't get around to drinking them. It's things like flavoured gins, prosecco, wine.

Any ideas what I can do with them?

Send them on to me!

Ponkeypink · 08/01/2025 11:28

Could you donate them to raffle? Charity? Re-gift them?

Regift them over the year.
Donate as raffle prizes etc….

BingBongBoo86 · 08/01/2025 11:29

Perhaps contact a local school. The PTA at my daughter’s school ask for alcohol to use at their summer and Christmas fayres.

What charities or raffles? I don't think I know of any.

Buy a load of bottle bags and give them as presents for every occasion going! You say you don't have much storage, but maybe you could keep back a few bottles of things you want to drink. Put them in the loft? Under the stairs? On a bookcase?

TickingAlongNicely · 08/01/2025 11:30

Our Scout group would happily take stuff like that for raffles, ad would the kids sports club, and school.

I used to get a lot of bottles of wine from parents as gifts. I donated them to local causes when they were having a raffle or bottle stall.

Go onto your local area Facebook site. There will be loads

Would they want them in January though?

Our local cat rescue charity will happily take things like this as raffle prizes for their events planned throughout the year (we just got rid of our Christmas booze and unopened chocolate this way). Contact some small local charities close to your heart and ask if they want them (the type of charities that have fundraising days and events)

Yes please!

(speaking on behalf of PTAs 🤣)

FrannyScraps · 08/01/2025 11:39

Ok great, I'll send some emails this afternoon!

Could be worth checking if any of your local food banks accept alcohol, I have a feeling they probably might not.

HellofromJohnCraven · 08/01/2025 11:48

Yes, moat local charities store stuff until their raffle events. Our local school puts a notice out in January asking for unwanted gifts suitable

amoreoamicizia · 08/01/2025 11:51

I had a similar dilemma with some bottles of wine (I don't drink). I thought I would be able to sell them but it turns out that that is very restricted online, which makes sense when you think about it.

Mrsredlipstick · 08/01/2025 11:54

Try your local church too. They have raffles and often events.

catin8oots · 08/01/2025 11:56

Local school PTA for the tombola

Newhi · 08/01/2025 11:57

Do you have any friends or family that would want them? Just put a post on the local WhatsApp/facebook/gumtree and say they’re free to the first person to take all of them. They’ll be gone in seconds.
