Help. My baby is struggling with this for over 6 months. The GP continues to give me steroids cream but they work for a short period of time. I am starting again the diversification with my baby to identify some possible allergies that I did not observe at the time. I need some advices.what can I use to be steriod-free? Something natural? Has anyone been through this? Thank you.

Oh bless him.
My Daughter has very mild eczema on her face and finds aveeno to be really good. It flares up in this cold weather so I apply it liberally before going outside! Not sure if it'll make a difference for your little man but thought I'd share in case x

That looks really sore poor thing.

Have you tried cutting out all dairy? Cows milk protein allergy can cause this.

What creams has the gp given?

We use xerobase emollient. When my DD was a baby we used emollient in the bath

Ohh poor baby. My 10 month was the same on his cheeks. His used to be red raw due to him itching.

I used the steroid cream as a last resort which worked incredibly fast to clear it. Then I worked on making sure he was always sufficiently moisturised. I think by day 3 on steroid cream it was pretty much clear. I use aveeno on his cheeks every nappy change to remind my self to keep his cheeks hydrated. Then sanex for bath time. We realised he had an allergy from certain foods so I cut them out.

For us yogurt was a trigger. His morning yogurt was causing most the issues so I changed this and he has been doing well. We are awaiting allergy testing as not all diary affects him so it's really weird.

I keep a food diary atm. To see what May be causing the issues. I would advise allergy testing aswell just in case.

All the best mama. I know how awful it can be seeing your LO like this.

Aw poor baby. I'd second a food diary and ask for a referral for allergy testing. Aveeno is good, so is Salcura if you don't want steroids.

We used oats wrapped in muslin in warm (not hot) bowl of water to release the milk and dabbed on face, into the bath etc.

Yes, neither me or baby eat dairy because he has milk intolerance. They gave me Hydrocortisone cream and ointment. Thank you.

I am waiting for an appointment for allergy testing too, as he seems to be allergic to eggs. But he started to have allergic reactions to things that previously he was fine eating them, that's why I thought of starting with day 1 of weaning. Thank you for support, it's really awful, make me feel like I am a bad mama sometimes.🤗 How many times a day did you use steroid cream?
