Do people tell you your clothes smell nice?

I always feel like you can never smell the detergent/softner we use on our clothes and have never been told our clothes smell nice. I currently use Tesco non bio liquid and comfort care conditioner.

When I buy clothes on vinted some smell AMAZING and also colleagues and friends clothes sometimes smell great too.

What can I do to make my clothes smell lovely?! Does the way you dry your clothes matter? I don’t have a tumble dryer but use a dehumidifier to help dry my clothes

My neighbour uses so much fabric softener or whatever on her clothes that I can smell she has her washing on her line in her adjacent back garden before I even get round the corner of the house to see it. It's just overwhelming and is enough to set off my allergies.
I really can't stand artificial smells. So long as your clothes don't smell musty or unpleasant in any way I can't see what the problem is.

Blue lenor - I had someone message me on vinted asking what I washed my clothes with as they smell so nice.

I quite often think that other people's fabric softener smells nice but I have never told them, I don't think. Also I think you notice other people's much more than your own so if other people are using the same one as you they might not really register it.
