I haven’t got a cold(touch wood) but hot milk honey and whisky knocks me out like a sledgehammer. And I had a port and brandy over Christmas, it was lovely.

Does nobody else put cloves in their hot toddy? I thought a clove studded lemon slice was an essential ingredient.

Cloves, lemon, honey, slice fresh ginger if you have it. I'm renowned for my toddys.

hot whiskey lemon water sugar and two paracetamol. Just don’t drink it on zoom meetings if you are trying to work 😂

Please don't take paracetamol with alcohol

My granny (dead many years - I am her age now IYSWIM) told me that it does, and even if it doesn't, drink enough of it and you won't care about the cold.

People say it is, but I find it makes me feel worse.
