Ideas for Easter holiday destinations with 5yo?

Nothing too expensive but somewhere with a bit of individuality. Can be UK or abroad. Not too worried about sun, though pleasant weather allowing us to get outdoors would be lovely. We have 1 week and I know I've left it very late to book!

We have 1 x nearly 5yo and 2 x parents. Enjoy activities, nature, fun stuff, swimming, culture, cities, countryside, everything really. Would love to stay in a hotel or self catered place which is good for kids- a swimming pool indoor or outdoor is helpful as our child loves it.

Someone recommended Kinderhotel in Austria but I've no idea if that's a goer. Also happy to find lovely UK places, farm stays or anything really. Centre Parcs is too expensive for what it is - rubbish food etc.

Any ideas for places, areas or actual hotels / accommodation?

West Wales. Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire (if they are still called that).

Ticks all your boxes.

We went self-catering somewhere near Clarbeston Road station. But we only cooked breakfasts and ate out. Basically what we saved on travel we spent on grub!

One of the best family holidays we ever had.

Thanks. Is there any accommodation you can recommend?

Not now, it was pre-lockdown and things change.

It was by the Llys-y-fran reservoir in a converted cart shed of all things. Cannot remember the name.

We also had a second equally good holiday staying on the coast between Mwnt and New Quay in an old Coastguard lookout station, but, again, the name escapes me.

Ok thanks. Not 100% sure as it would mean a long drive - we are in far SE

We were in Sutton. The journey down the M25/M4 was OK as far as the Severn Bridge, but the bit from the bridge to the end of the motorway was a right pain. From there to the cottage was a lovely drive.

Agree with PP - I took my DC to a couple of European centre parks when they were younger. Great value for money, particularly compared to UK prices.

We once had a holiday over Easter at Cwmiar Farm Holiday Cottages, the kids loved feeding the animals in morning, and then afternoons at Aberporth beach. There were a couple of nice pubs nearby.
