Recommend me some wellies?

I want some that are warm - so thick or lined? I have walking boots I wear all the time but there is place for a welly in my life but they need to be lightweight and comfortable.

I'm tempted by the Lakeland ones on Amazon but they aren't cheap if they aren't right.

Any recommendations?

Neoprene wellies are great
Barbour are crappy quality now
You can return easily with Amazon so if they are not right fit you they can be returned for the Lakeland ones

I've got neoprene wellies from the muck boot company. Not cheap but very lightweight and comfy enough to walk in (like a walking boot). I notice they have a sale on at the moment

Currently wearing short croc ones which are comfy but work my socks off unless I wear knee high ones and sole can be slippy in mud. Have lovely le Chameau ones that are fleece lined and soft. Loved my Muck Boots but rubbed after a month and started leaking within a year. Barbour, Hunter, Joules are all rubbish in my opinion and all got returned for leaking / splitting.

I live in Muck Boots, although they do start to rub at the heel (I think something inside splits) after about 18 months of constant wear and they are sadly not cheap.

My feet have never been cold in them and they have good grip (I buy the Arctic weekend ones)

Also recommend Muck boots. So warm. Not great for walking on sand - maybe that's just my tight calves!

Willow12345 · 04/01/2025 09:09

I have Muck Boots and although they are lovely and warm they are too slippy in wet weather and even on muddy walks. And don't get me started when it's icy..

Aigle Parcours ISO

I've got muck boots, had them over a year and they're still in fab condition .
I wear them for dog walking so not all the time.
I've had hunters which were absolutely rubbish

DeedlessIndeed · 04/01/2025 11:29

Neoprene lined Le Chameau wellies are what you want. Initially a bit pricey, but they will last for years and years of daily use.

AnnaMagnani · 04/01/2025 11:35

I love my Muckboots. The Hunter wellies they replaced were shite.

Biroclicker · 04/01/2025 11:36

Muckboots were my go-to but the quality is awful now. I wouldn't buy another pair.

I'm tempted by aigles now.

Peaceatlast01 · 04/01/2025 11:37

I’ve just ordered an ankle length pair from Ariat which got some good recommendations on previous threads. Merry People boots look lovely but reviews were mixed so I passed on those.

Aigle neoprene. I live rurally and wear them every day. They have lasted years and will last many more.

I wear wellies a lot, and have tried many brands over the years ... but never found any I loved. My Hunters split and I needed new last year, so thought I'd go to the top, splash out and see if you do indeed 'get what you pay for'. I tried on a pair of Le Chameau's and a pair of Aigle's (the neoprene ones with red lining!). For me, the Aigle's felt more comfortable - like they'd been made for me. I've had them about a year, no signs of wear on them, my feet stay warm in the coldest of weather, and they're as comfortable as a pair of slippers. Love 'em!
