So I have inflammation in my spine, causing pain. I'm on strong pain meds that are doing an ok job of masking it. Ive got physio exercises to do and basically need to be as mobile as is manageable.

I’ve been signed off work for 6 weeks, I can't drive. Kids are at schools all day so I'm going to be alone 9-3 . I will be doing physio exercises as instructed, I plan to do two walks a day to try to build movement. I love to read, crosswords and tv so I'm fine for when I am resting/sitting. I'm also trying to meditate twice a day.

I'm trying to think is there something I can do that requires some movement (unlike reading etc) but isn't too active , can't really be exercise and can be done at home. I can manage small bits of housework but I wondered if there's a hobby that I haven't thought of. I ruled out jigsaws due to the leaning over a table.

Any ideas?

Singing? I’m in Rock Choir, it’s fantastic, you can do the teaching sessions online and then practise as much as you like with song downloads.

Get a decent camera to take on your walks, edit one photo a day through Lightroom or Photoshop. It's really satisfying to see how much better you get over time.

I have an Insta account for mine and I've made loads of photography friends through it.

How about a vr headset? You can buy games for it that require movement but it's just your arms, there's one called Beat Saber where you hold light sabers and slash through blocks in time to music, I play it sitting down.

As you get fitter you can stand up to play them.
There are loads of things you can do on it other than game, there are mediation apps, travel apps or you can watch TV and YouTube etc
I use my headset every day to play paintball with people from around the world, it's great fun.

Tai chi? There are videos on YouTube check out a few to find a presenter you like. I've been doing about half an hour an evening as though I don't have a physical problem I am VERY unfit. Just after a few days I can already feel myself loosening up.
