Looking to sell the house soon, what are some things you done or bought the house before selling?!

The estate agent normally takes the photos, so if they’re good and professional photographers, they should make the house look good.

Declutter as much as you can and hide toys and clutter. Remove family photos and have clear shelves as much as possible. I moved everything from the dressing table, except posh perfume. Decluttered the bathroom shelves too. Make the outside look good for kerb appeal. Tidy anything outside that needs it. Pots outside are good, although there’s not a huge choice at this time of year.

Basically depersonalise your house. Maybe buy some fresh towels, fresh flowers etc.

Someone posted a house on here a few months back and asked why it wasn’t selling and it was basically a ‘what not to do’ when having photos of your house done. 😅

toilet seat was up and at the front of the bathroom shot

bathroom surfaces covered in bottles

visibly brown and dirty once white bath mat on the floor next to the bath

beds made half heartedly with brown or unpleasant pattern duvets with wrinkles in the bedlinen which easily could have been smoothed out

cluttered kitchen with bottles of squash and fabric conditioner on the side. Advertising WE HAVENT ENOUGH STORAGE

no effort to kerbside appeal eg weeding done and a nice hanging basket or pot plant

I could go on. Basically you want a nice showroom or posh holiday house vibe. Expensive, clean, minimal, pleasant and not personality no dog beds or gaming consoles out. No piles of unopened letters on the side in the kitchen
